Ashburton Is Getting Back to Normal

But we still need to protect each other from the virus

Shops, restaurants, cafes and pubs in Ashburton are making their way back to normal but are must put in place measures to protect us all.

Face coverings must be worn - except in a food business if you are buying food to eat in

As of Friday the 24th July we must wear face coverings in all shops - unless it is a food business and we are buying food to eat in. You may be exempt if you suffer from a medical condition that means that you cannot wear a mask.

You will also be asked to sanitise your hands as you enter each shop - this is to reduce the risk of transmitting the virus to goods you may touch or to common contact points such as card machines or door handles. The shops will also have a sanitisation routine to protect you.

Government advice is that frequently washing your hands for at least 20 seconds (or twp "Happy Birthdays") with soap and water is still the best way to protect yourself.

Whilst these measures may be frustrating at times - shops and businesses must put these measures in place if they are to open - they don't have a choice! So please be patient and kind - the businesses are here to give you the best possible service they can under these difficult circumstances and they need and appreciate your support.
